Romy,What was the reason you were not happy with the last version of your midbass section? THe one with two Vitavox 15" per side. ...
|
Romy reading in your site, i got interested in the vitavox ak151. do u have an idea, if it would sound considerably better in a cornerhorn, than my altec 416's ? i got a offer for 900 pounds a pair. what do u think abought deqx ? Angelo...

Thanks Romy,I was hoping to hear that you remain happy with your midbass solution and was surprised at the time about the small cabinets that you used for the Vitavox 15"ers, but having measured T/S parameters of the drivers here I can see that indee...

I have to disagree with you here. Until you've heard the bass from a JBL Hartsfield, you haven't heard bass. Best bass I've heard period. I'm curious if the Vitavox is of the same caliber. ...

RECARDO,,,,ITS OBVIOUS YOU DONT KNOW HOW TO READ...SOON ALL SCHOOLS WILL ALSO DROP CURSIVE WRITEING,,,HOW WILL THE KIDS PLACE THE SIGNATURE ON A DOCUMENT,,,PRINT IT? YOUR LUCKEY A DIDNT WRITE IN RUSSION,,,OFFENSIVE WOULD BE IF I TOLD YOU TO FECK OF...

I agree the "period" closing needs more words, Roman. The P.A. horns/drivers were mounted in stadiums, convention centers, maxonic halls, cinemas, theaters, everywhere was needed a broad music or speech dispersion, trouble free operation and high S.P....

... that I like sounds of 15-inch Vitavox even in a toilet then I was kidding then think again.......
|
The toilet paper is Romy's way of moderating the tweeter by a dB or two.Cannot load the photo. The box is about 3x11/2x1 foot with the Tannoy driver above the one Vitavox....
|
Flip the Vitavox woofers so the magnet is on outside of box and the cone is facing inside. This will increase the overall box volume and maybe reduce the mid/high output. Also voice coil will be closer to time aligned to rest of system......

Yes. I’m exiting to see how the new horn I shaping up. Still I do not think that it is about second orders. Obviously in context of 5 channels system, the more channels one gets then less room between them. I still feel that in order to do it c...

Romy, I just got a Vitavox S2 into my shop today. I notice that it has a very heavy stainless screen on the front, do you leave the screen on when using the drivers? It looks like it restricts about 50% or more of the throat exit.Rich Drysdale...

Here is another subject that many people would not understand, however some of the advanced Vitavox S2 user will be able to follow me.
The MF compression drivers hat go all the way to 12K-13K region all have own idiosyncratic way to present ow...

Those who publicly hate you the most will line up to buy the house the same way they buy Lamm amps with plastic speaker postsand Vitavox drivers , don't forget to leave the antenna mast and as many artifacts as you can ,down to Koshka poop, heheheMa...

Peter Empson from United Kingdom, the guy who use to run Unofficial Vitavox site and Forum has open a High-Fi shop in Aylesbury with a sentimental name “Deco Audio”. He sells the new production of Vitavox parts: The S2 drivers, the 15” woofer and...

I am not "working backwards" from a tweeter. I presently use Harbeth M40.1s, but having recently heard the Living Voice Vox Olympian and an Audio Tekne horn implementation of Ale Acoustics drivers, the experiences opened up new vistas of what is poss...
|
If you have suitable space behind your listing position you could maybe use a pair of K-horns with a single Vitavox the same way you used your big midbass horns in the old house. There are always some empty cabs , original or clones available . They ...
|
HI Markus,Thanks for your interest but it is off-topic in this thread, and of no real interest. My system, other than Marco's 320hz horns with Vitavox S2s, is completely commercial and mostly just slapped together. Regards,R Weissman...
|
Don't know the Vitavox, but some of the old 15" drivers sound good up to 4-500 Hz. For my own current project I will be crossing a modern 10" driver at about 200 Hz, for reasons of efficiency, and not planning to use the walls for baffle extensions. ...

Congratulations on your success! Will you say more about Red vs. Vitavox sound characteristics at your chosen X/O range? It sounds like your room is also driving your choices. Do you now get the dynamics you want using this X/O frequency?Best regards...

Oops, I just learned that at the NEW Vitavox site there is all data I need: http://www.vitavoxhifi.co.uk/pages/pdf1.phpThe fully charged BL is 19.6, how nice…....

Hi Jessie :I'm sorry if this is not the subject of this thread as I have a bit of a problem following computer/digital discussions, but since you read french, there is a fellow in france selling a device to send audio signals from iTunes to audio sys...

Dear All,Thank you all for your assistance, especially Romy, whose information has been particularly interesting. I have been in contact with Jeffrey Jackson, with whom I have discussed my driver preferences, and arrived at what is essentially only a...

I bet it's one of the infrequent posters on this site system . I also find 2khz crossover for td2001 not problematic. Very nice and I imagine it's hard to loose that DIY look in setups like that. Especially when the speaker is undergoing constant cha...

From the Vitavox site: http://www.vitavoxhifi.co.uk/products.php?page=pressure_units"With the coil wound directly onto the dome there is direct drive - no intervening adhesive joint - and damping of eddy currents. The surround is formed from polyeste...

Guys, does anyone has service documentation or pans with dimension for the bass section (cabinet) of Vitavox CN191?http://website.lineone.net/~empson/Sys191.html...

It is this section, labelled "Pressure drivers", that caught my attention...http://www.vitavox-sound.com/PressureDrivers/tabid/134/Default.aspx"Still to be done" is not exactly encouraging, but does hint at promise. But if the serious audio part of t...

You must be into antiques or something. Just buy a Raven R1. It will easily outperform both the EV (which is not very good) or the Vitavox (which is good if your hearing doesn't extend over 12Khz) tweeters. Yago...
I'd probably quit my day job if …. The much rumored new/old Vitavox drivers turn out to be good and available.
Indeed surprising…....

Wow, it took 3 hours to take it apart. As I always told those vintage driver made horrible. The do sound Ok but precession-wise and technology wise they were very pure. They really were the low teach devised made for popping up the sound pressure but...
